{Penang, Kek Lok Si Temple}
It has been such a long time since i updated my bog, its also not like anyone would ever read it. Just saying.
Well, I have been away. I went to Genting, Penang and Tanjung Malim. I spent about 7-8 days in Malaysia. I went together with my other cousins and relative. It has been very enjoyable. Went many many places and had tons of food inclusive of the famous Penang Asam Laksa, it was really delicious! The past week had been a major jet lag to my body clock, its not like there is any time difference, its just that we travelled by car and the journey was really long, till my ass ached like a bitch. Though we did a few stops by different capitals. Before we went to Penang, we went to Genting Highlands which is located at the top of the mountain in Kuala Lumpur, and that took us about a 4 hour trip, not inclusive of the major jam we had. Not kidding, the drive up to Genting was uncomfortable. We stayed there for a short 3 days 2 nights and we were off again on the road to Penang. This time the drive was about up to 6 hours. Imagining being cramped in a tight area to sit ad sleep. Goodness. Penang was fun, I bought many good goodies back to Singapore for myself and Ed's family, and a dew other souvenirs for friends and relatives. We had supper for 4 nights straight! I'm wondering if i have gained any kilos. Haha! Well, we only stayed in Penang for 3 days and 2 nights but it was worth while. We went to Kek Lok Si Temple, Sleeping Buddha Temple, and look at the historical paintings. Sadly most of the paintings have to spoiled or corroded by the acid rain over the years. We were rather more adventurous with the food we ate at Penang. No stample meal, Just little bites of everything throughout the day. It is my 1st trip there so its rather fascinating. Cant wait to go a 2nd time. While we were having fun, time flies like a rocket, its time to leave Penang for my hometown. Well, I was quite looking forward to going back as finally, i am able to see people I know. Travelling is tough, going to a strange environment with no one that recognised you or know you, not to mention high risk of robberies and its obvious we were tourist. Haha. Spent another 3 days and 2 nights in my hometown before heading back to Johor Bahru. Back in my hometown, i finally was able to taste my maternal grandma's nostalgic half boiled eggs and ice cold barley drink. It felt great. Having woman's talk with my couz, though we might have argued a little here and there but its fine. Now I'm finally back in Singapore, I have to get ready for my next trip which is on this Friday. I'm flying off to China, ShengZhen to see my other relatives. I haven't been back there for 4 years. Its time to go back while I still have the chance and maybe do a little shopping and pump my my wardrobe for my next semester. PS, It is an honour to travel to other parts of the world and explore. Not everyone has the chance to do so... Cherish each opportunity and enjoy. |
